Which English club handled their about-turn best? We liked <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/feed\/update\/urn:li:activity:6790615237868478464\">Arsenal\u2019s open letter to fans<\/a>, a nice contrast to other clubs who simply issued a one sentence club statement.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Testing, testing \u2026 headlines, subject lines, copy and graphics are all worth A\/B testing. This is a look at <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">real-world <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.tjcx.me\/p\/new-york-times-ab-testing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A\/B testing of New York Times headlines<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hootsuite has shared this useful summary of the<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hootsuite.com\/instagram-algorithm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Instagram algorithm<\/a>. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0They\u2019ve also done <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hootsuite.com\/experiment-link-in-bio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an interesting experiment<\/a> about whether using \u2018Link In Bio\u2019 affects the reach of your posts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Does Twitter\u2019s algorithm penalise external links? T<a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/technically-social\/study-suggests-twitters-timeline-algorithm-buries-external-links-92cb5841082f\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">his study suggests<\/a> it may be smarter to keep more of the content within a post if you want to benefit from the algorithmic timeline for greater exposure.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Studies like these are really useful to help plan campaigns and content, but it is always really important to test performance from your own accounts and see if it matches the research.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Audience Behaviour<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another useful planning aid is knowing where your audience spend their time.\u00a0 In the US, Pew Research have just published their latest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/internet\/2021\/04\/07\/social-media-use-in-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">update on social media usage<\/a>. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Ofcom have updated their detailed analysis of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ofcom.org.uk\/__data\/assets\/pdf_file\/0025\/217834\/adults-media-use-and-attitudes-report-2020-21.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Adults\u2019 Media Use and Attitudes in the UK<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For a global perspective and a wide range of country by country analysis, <a href=\"https:\/\/wearesocial.com\/blog\/2021\/01\/digital-2021-the-latest-insights-into-the-state-of-digital\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hootsuite and We Are Social\u2019s<\/a> insights are fascinating.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.digitalnewsreport.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reuters Institute Digital News Report<\/a>\u00a0is a detailed analysis of the changing ways people around the world consume news. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Channels, their audiences, and the content shared changes over time.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tonicowanbrown.com\/educational-tiktok\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">This post by Toni Cowan-Brown<\/a> shows how TikTok has evolved and highlights some seriously good examples of educational TikTok accounts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finally if you want to quickly find where something is mentioned in a video, <a href=\"https:\/\/you-tldr.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">You-TLDR<\/a> automatically pulls out the transcript from any YouTube <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">video.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>News from Helpful HQ<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We have our own news here at Helpful HQ.
