They did a fantastic job, and we were delighted with the positive feedback<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reviewed and updated a client\u2019s crisis plan to clarify roles and templates for assessing and handling a crisis situation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Celebrated Helpful&#8217;s 10th Birthday<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">In as much as firms have birthdays, today is <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/helpfuldigital?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@helpfuldigital<\/a>&#8216;s 10th. When Tesco ran an exercise that imagined their head office would shut down, it was described as \u201ca bit ridiculous and extreme,\u201d but is now <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/business\/2020\/may\/03\/how-tesco-doomsday-exercise-helped-it-cope-with-the-coronavirus\">proving to have been a very useful test<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Planning ahead is a vital part of any crisis response, here are some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mckinsey.com\/business-functions\/strategy-and-corporate-finance\/our-insights\/getting-ahead-of-the-next-stage-of-the-coronavirus-crisis\" rel=\"nofollow\">thoughts from McKinsey<\/a> on planning for the next stage or the coronavirus crisis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adaptation and innovation are more important than ever <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nesta.org.uk\/blog\/there-will-be-no-back-normal\/\">say Nesta in this article<\/a> about not going back to normal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We\u2019ve been hearing a lot about bots recently but if you\u2019ve ever wondered exactly what they are and how they work this is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/bitesize\/articles\/zjhg47h\">fantastic guide from Carl Miller<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Someone we follow on Twitter is Marc Owen Jones for his <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/marcowenjones\/status\/1265554793826836482?s=20\">fascinating data-led threads<\/a> on Twitter activity around key subjects and events.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is<a href=\"https:\/\/arstechnica.com\/science\/2020\/05\/the-covid-19-misinformation-crisis-is-just-beginning-but-there-is-hope\/\"> a useful read on how misinformation spreads<\/a> on social media, and the importance of mapping out where conversations are taking place so that you can tackle misleading and inaccurate information.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">64% are now more likely to listen expert advice from qualified scientists and researchers <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.okfn.org\/2020\/05\/05\/brits-demand-openness-from-government-in-tackling-coronavirus\/\">according to research<\/a> from The Open Knowledge Foundation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Echoed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edelman.com\/research\/trust-2020-spring-update\" rel=\"nofollow\">Edelman\u2019s latest research<\/a> showing there is a strong public demand for expert voices, as people want to hear from the most trusted sources of information on the pandemic: doctors (80 percent), scientists (79 percent) and national health officials (71 percent).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Good Digital Communications\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Airbnb\u2019s CEO shared this <a href=\"https:\/\/news.airbnb.com\/a-message-from-co-founder-and-ceo-brian-chesky\/\">well written update<\/a> to staff and a wider audience via the Airbnb blog.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The National Trust have set up <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationaltrust.org.uk\/news\/our-latest-statement-on-reopening-and-coronavirus-covid-19\">this simple webpage<\/a> for updates on their properties<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Royal Academy are doing a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/royalacademy\/status\/1260178858206248960?s=20\">#RADailyDoodle<\/a> challenge on Twitter<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Helpful news and other updates<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cards Against Humanity have launched a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cardsagainsthumanityfamilyedition.com\/\">free, family-friendly, downloadable version<\/a> of their game.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wondering why video calls feel tiring, <a href=\"https:\/\/uxdesign.cc\/the-psychological-impact-of-video-calls-dbed57aa792b\" rel=\"nofollow\">here&#8217;s the explanation.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>An <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/05\/24\/business\/media\/new-model-celebrity.html\" rel=\"nofollow\">interesting article about Cameo<\/a> and the value of building small, passionate niches rather than large numerical followings.
